The annual letter from the Board of Directors Shiji covering an overview of the past year and a look at the plans for the future, progress on the strategies and goals set.
The Board of Directors of Shiji would like to extend their best wishes, sincere greetings, and heartfelt thanks to all partners, customers, investors and employees who have been with us along our company’s path of innovation and development! With the Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, just around the corner, we have been looking forward to the upcoming Year of the Tiger with many exciting changes to come.
2021 was the most challenging year we have experienced across our industry since the establishment of Shiji. The continued pandemic affected the hotel and travel industry around the globe with the closure of hotels and delayed openings affecting our traditional business. The aftermath of COVID-19 has postponed some of the expansion of Shiji’s global strategy, but the strategy remains – we are deeply committed and invested in the international growth of Shiji. Relying on both our global talent pool and past profits accumulated, Shiji has increased domestic and global R&D investments, released additional enterprise-level products, and we are increasingly surpassing numerous domestic and foreign competitors with our products.
Shiji Enterprise Platform, our newly launched hospitality cloud-based platform built for PMS, CRS, and more, was built from the ground up, and now sits at the core of Shiji’s suite of products and services, with multiple Shiji products being added as applications on the platform. Shiji Data Platform has been recognized by multiple leading hotel groups in China. The Shiji Destination Solution is gaining competitive advantage with significant installation growth as it integrates all segments of hotel, catering, retail, leisure and entertainment, payment, and distributions channels with Shiji’s Data Platform. This year, the growth of implementations for our company's Payment and Distribution platforms achieved major milestones and hit record highs. Through increased integrations between our products and increased investments in new product research and development, Shiji Retail continues to consolidate its leading position in China's retail information system industry, we now supply technology to all of Hainan’s duty-free stores.
2021 was a crucial year for the company on our global expansion strategy. The company's next generation restaurant management platform Infrasys Cloud POS has entered a period of stable, rapid development and continues to successfully pass legal and fiscal certifications around the world. It has been widely implemented and highly praised by many international hotel groups, including Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Intercontinental Hotel Group and Accor. Infrasys Cloud POS has become a global reference for many well-known, high-end international hotel groups and has become established as a leading F&B cloud solution and SaaS in the global hotel industry.
Shiji Enterprise Platform, built on future-proofed cloud architecture to serve as the core technology platform for enterprise hotel companies, has been a continued R&D investment. The platform has passed global certifications of industry benchmark customers such as The Peninsula Hotels and one of the largest international hotel groups. Shiji Enterprise has successfully gone live with pilot hotels for both groups, with new installations and launches are still ongoing around the world. Working with these leading global chains allows Shiji Enterprise Platform to adapt to the most stringent requirements of luxury hotels in terms of product maturity, functionality, stability, data security, open integrations, and operations. At present, we are offering Shiji Enterprise Platform to the global hotel market, with demonstrated benefits for the industry’s top customers to accelerate the overall shift to SaaS models for international hotel groups.
Looking forward to 2022, we are seizing the opportunity brought by the need for digital transformation in hospitality to apply our leading technology and products to the global market. We will continue to dedicate resources to further R&D innovation, customer resources, and branding. Another key priority for Shiji is the continued internal integration within our suite of products and services to keep bringing a new generation of cloud products to our industry and further ensuring Shiji as the benchmark technology for global, renowned hospitality groups in the post-epidemic world. We will continue to invest and progress towards our goal of providing fully data-driven operations through enterprise-level, future-proofed technology throughout the world.
